Diagnostic 3.0©1997-98 by Simon BellAll Rights ReservedJune 1, 1998What is it?===========Diagnostic is a small app which shows you all SimpleMail's settings so you cancheck them over in one place.Installation============Just download the Diagnostic.pkg package to your Newton MessagePad.Use===Tap the Diagnostic icon in Extras to bring up a slip showing SimpleMail'ssettings.The settings belong to your current owner card. To change owner tap the "sender"picker in the top left corner of the Diagnostic slip and choose another; thedisplay of SimpleMail's settings will be updated to reflect your new choice.If you have more than one SimpleMail entry in an owner card, a "Next" button willbe shown at the bottom of the slip. Tapping this displays the next SimpleMailsetting. A "Go Back" button will be shown, allowing you to go back through thesettings.Tapping the Clear button (and confirming the action) will delete all SimpleMail'ssettings from your Newton. You may need to do this if you're encounteringproblems and want to start afresh, or if you decide to remove SimpleMailcompletely from your Newton. Note that your owner "E-Mail" entries will also bedeleted.All SimpleMail information shown in the slip is set by the Owner Info app. Ifyou've defined a SimpleMail setup, all values should be strings, for example"pop.host.com" (with the quotes). Any other value, for example nil or doesn'texist, indicates incorrect SimpleMail configuration which will probably lead tothe dreaded...
