LeapNKeyboards v.1.0 10/15/98 LeapNKeyboards is a little program that borrows an idea from my other keyboard program, PunctPad. LeapNKeyboards installs a set of buttons two-thirds below the right side of the Newton screen. At the top of the app is an up/down arrow that will repostition LeapNKeyboards. The keyboard picture button launches the Newton's builtin keyboards via a popup list. The list also includes PunctPad and the Styles palette. Now for the fun stuff: The bottom three arrow buttons will reposition an open keyboard to the top, middle or bottom of the screen. This will save time (and wear/tear on the screen?) dragging the keyboard out of the way. LeapNKeyboards is freeware Note: - LeapNKeyboards works with the following keyboards: All of Newton's builtin keyboards and Styles palette (also works with Styles+ by Foundation Systems!) Graffiti 2.0 and Graffiti's own small qwerty keyboard (I haven't tried it on Graffiti 1.3). Fitaly Keyboard v1.1 by TextWare Solutions (This app already has a repositioning button of its own). WriteHere v2.01 by Foundation Systems. - LeapNKeyboards will not work on Stand Alone's KeyMan Keyboards. You will receive an error if you try. - PunctPad has its own auto-tracking/repositioning system so LeapNKeyboards does not control it. - LeapNKeyboards does not add any patches to any of the keyboards' code. It is very safe (but see the Graffiti bug below!). As long as future (ha, ha!) versions of NOS do not modify the builtin keyboards, LeapNKeyboards will continue to work. LeapNKeyboards v1.0 is not gauranteed to work on future versions of the above mentioned third-party keyboards. Bugs: - If you drag the Graffiti 2.0 into the button bar LeapNKeyboards will not position it correctly . Drag Graffiti above the buttton bar before pressing the arrow buttons. If the Graffiti application moves completely off screen while tapping the arrow buttons, you will have to freeze/thaw Graffiti to fix it.
