****************** Upper Buttons 1.0 Read Me ******** Shareware: $5 ***********Thanks for trying Upper Buttons. This is an app similar in concept to Jesse Devine's StatusBar Buttons (a must have in itself) with a few twistsadded. First off, due to the fact the status bar is getting prettycrowded due to apps like StatusBar Buttons and other apps that tuck a buttondown there, there's not a whole lot of room for new buttons, so I placed themin the folder bar at the top of the note pad. This also means they're smaller, and more can be placed up there (subject to the constraints of the currentfolder label.) The other major difference is that the buttons are configurable, using theseparate app UBConfig. You can add or remove buttons, and change the contentand icons of those you've created. If a button has only one content item, thenno list is popped up, and the content is directly pasted after the insertionpoint. If there are multiple items, then after tapping one, it is pasted after the insertion point. Note that nothing will happen if there is no insertion point (it doesn't have to be blinking, but you must have either entered text into the note or tapped where you want the new text to go.) The buttons are configured using UBConfig, which only needs to be on thenewton (taking up valuable heap and extra drawer space) when you want to change them. Otherwise, it can be removed or archived. It's operation is pretty straightforward: tap on the picker at the top to select one of yourbuttons, or "New Button" to create a new button. To assign an icon, tap on the"Set Icon" button, and a list of icons will pop up. Tapping "Delete Button"will remove the button from your Newton.Tapping "New Item" will let you add a content item to the button. You can dragtext in from the clipboard, but no graphics (yet.) Tapping on an item in the listand then tapping "Remove Item" will remove that item from the button. This is the first version, and when I resume school in september I plan to enhance it with other features (such as more than 25 items per menu and graphicentries.) It's $5 shareware, and registered owners will receive free upgrades until at _least_version 2.0. It's cost will go up to $10 after the next revision.
