Short List © 1995 Cesar Maiorino. All rights reserved.Version 1.1 9/27/95Cesar MaiorinoP.O. Box 108Princeton, MA 01541Cesar@eWorld.comShort List is a Notepad based list editor. You can view and modify your lists in the Notepad or by launching Short List. Lists created by Short List can be treated like any other Notepad note. It is a small attempt to make the Notepad more useful and functional. After installation, a new item will appear on the pop-up for the Action Button (envelope) attached to each note. This is titled "Short List". Selecting Short List opens the application which converts the text in the current note into a list. ***IMPORTANT*** any unrecognized "ink" or drawings in the note will be lost, only the text will be converted. This is no undoable. If you hit the "Cancel" button, however, your note will remain unchanged, ink and all.A list consists of a label followed by the individual list items. Each list item has three columns: Done, Priority, and Item. Tapping in the Done column toggles a check mark. Tapping the Priority column allows setting a priority from none to 9. Tapping in the item columns allows editing of the item text. Tapping the column heading for any column sorts the items by that column. The "Sort the list" buttons allows selection of the same sorting options. The "Delete an item" button allows for deletion of a particular item (undoable). The "Delete checked items" button allows for deletion of all checked items (undoable). The "Add an item" button adds a new item to the end of the list and opens the text editor. The "Cancel" button will close Short List without making any changes to the note, i.e. the note will be the same as when Short List was opened. Tapping the little smiley face at the bottom left reveals the info screen. Note: There is a bug in the Notepad application which causes "carriage returns" to be deleted in notes under certain conditions involving letter-by-letter recognition. Since Short List relies on carriage returns to determine the separation between list items, this bug will cause Short List to have problems with the affected notes.Send comments and bug reports to email or mail address given above. This product may be copied and distributed freely, as long as no charge is made for such distribution. Do not distribute without this README file.A special thanks to Steve Holden for beta testing and lots of suggestions and encouragement.Revision History.Version 1.1 9/27/95.- Fixed bug that corrupted notes during restart, or "not enough memory" problems.- Added "Cancel" button. This button will close Short List without making any changes to the note, i.e. the note will be the same as when Short List was opened.
