You only need to install those items that you wish to use, and you can delete unused packages from your Newton whenever you like. You can do this using the Newton Connection Utility (for Mac or Windows), the Newton Package Downloader, or the Newton Backup Utility. See the documentaion with each of these for more information on installing packages with them.* Using Stationery Pack--------------------------------------------------------------------- This section will cover the use of each stationery package. To create a new note, go into the NotePad, tap the "New" button, and select the note type you wish to create.¥ÊBlank Note This is simply a note with no lines on it. In all other respects, it is the same as a standard Note.¥ÊGraph Paper This note presents you with a ruled (both horizonally and vertically) sheet of 'paper'. You can adjust the spacing of the rules via the picker at the bottom of the sheet. When printing, items will be re-spaced so as to cover the entire page. If you'd like to print *exactly* what's on screen (so that your drawings and text are still lined up with the rules), check the "Constrain Printing" box.¥ÊLocation Note This note presents you with a standard note with three additions. At the top of the note is a line to enter a name. Below that you can enter a location. Finally, you can set a date to asscociate the note with.¥ÊPhone Message Like the Location Note, this note has an associated person. You can also select a phone number and time for them. Below this is a list of check boxes, to quickly denote the reason for a call. If you'd like to edit these reasons, tap the "Edit Reasons" button. At the bottom of this page is a notes field, to enter in comments about the call.¥ÊPrioritized Note Almost identical to a standard note, the Prioritized Note allows you to set the priority for the Note, and mark it as done or not. If you have a NotePad folder with only StationeryÊPrioritized Notes in it, they will be sorted, first by date, and then by priority.¥ÊShopping List Much like the standard Outline, the shopping list adds one or two columns, for quantity and price. You can toggle the price column on and off via the prefs (accessed via the 'i' button.) At the lower right of the screen, a running total of all your items is kept. If you have decided to not show the price field, this will be a total of the quantity fields.¥ÊTime Card The Time Card stationery is useful for tracking hours spent on a project. At the top of the form, you can enter a client and project name. Below this are a list of dates and times. To create a new date, tap the calendar button (the left most button on the bar in the lower middle of the screen.) This will create a new date item. To create a new time item, tap the clock button (in the middle of the bar.) This will create a new time item for the current date (the current date is underlined in the display.) To change a date or time, tap on the text of the item, and the appropriate picker will open to allow you to set it. To collapse a date (hiding all time items under it), tap on the triangle to it's left. Tapping on the circle to the left of a time item will open a notes field for that item.¥ÊNotePad Converter Tap the NPC button in the status bar and select either convert or copy to appropriate type of note. If you convert a note, the converted note will be an exact duplicate with the exception of the type of note. If you copy the note the content of the note will be copied into a completely new note.* Registering Stationery Pack--------------------------------------------------------------------- You have a 30 day trial period in which to examine Stationery Pack, during which it will function fully.
